AITI and BIL Strategic Collaboration for ICT Development

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and Brunei Innovation Lab (BIL)

 

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) marked a significant milestone on Thursday, 25 January 2024 with the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in collaboration with Brunei Innovation Lab (BIL). The event took place at the Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong in conjunction with the Brunei Startup Summit 2024, and was attended by senior officials of AITI and BIL.  

 

The MOU serves as a robust framework for collaboration between AITI and BIL, fostering an environment of innovation and cooperation.  The agreement is established to identify potential projects and engage in mutually beneficial initiatives dedicated to advance the development of the ICT industry. 

 

Among the key areas of focus outlined in the MOU are digital capacity building, research and development in new industries, and conducting awareness programmes. 

 

The MOU underscores the dedication of both organisations to elevate the technological landscape in Brunei Darussalam through collaborative initiatives by driving innovation and creating lasting impact.  Through this MOU, AITI and BIL aspire to catalyse the growth of the ICT sector, contributing to Brunei Darussalam’s technological advancement.   

 

The MOU was signed by Siti Zaraura binti Haji Mohammad, Acting Assistant Chief Executive of Industry Development Group, AITI, and Freddie Ting Lik Wei, General Manager of BIL. Also signing as witnesses were Ir. Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Chief Executive of AITI and Haji Amirul Shahnoel Md Noeh, Chairperson of BIL.
