Doa Kesyukuran Held to Commemorate AITI’s 20th Anniversary

A Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was held at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Kg Madang, to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI).

Present at the event was Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary Bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

Also in attendance were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office in his capacity as Chairman of AITI; Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications), Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC); Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transport), MTIC; Ir. Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Chief Executive, AITI; AITI’s Members of Authority; Directors and officers of MTIC and AITI; members of Infocomm Federation Brunei (IFB) and representatives of the telecommunications service providers and ICT companies.

The ceremony, led by Imam Muhammad Khaizuran Amali bin Hj Kamsani, began with recitation of Surah Yaasin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran, followed by mass Asar and Sunnat Hajat prayers.

Since its enactment on 1 January 2003 through the AITI Order, 2001, AITI has been responsible for performing regulatory functions for telecommunication systems and services; managing the national radio-frequency spectrum; protecting consumers’ interest by promoting competitive pricing and ensuring quality of services; as well as developing the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry for Brunei Darussalam.

AITI will continue to strive towards achieving the vision of transforming Brunei Darussalam into a Connected Smart Nation through the development of a thriving digital industry, a connected nation, and a digitally-enriched society.

Majlis Doa Kesyukuran telah diadakan di Masjid Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit, Kg Madang sempena meraikan ulang tahun Pihak Berkuasa Industri Teknologi Info-komunikasi Negara Brunei Darussalam (AITI) yang ke-20.

Hadir pada majlis Doa Kesyukuran tersebut ialah Menteri Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha.

Turut hadir ialah Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Timbalan Menteri (Tenaga) di Jabatan Perdana Menteri selaku Pengerusi AITI; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Infokomunikasi), Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi (MTIC); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Pemangku Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pengangkutan), MTIC; Yang Mulia Ir. Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Ketua Eksekutif, AITI; Ahli-Ahli Pihak Berkuasa AITI; Pengarah-pengarah dan pegawai-pegawai MTIC dan AITI; ahli-ahli InfoCom Federation Brunei (IFB); dan wakil-wakil daripada penyedia perkhidmatan telekomunikasi dan syarikat ICT.

Majlis telah dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Yaasin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran yang diketuai oleh Imam Muhammad Khaizuran Amali bin Hj Kamsani, diikuti dengan sembahyang Sunat Hajat dan fardhu Asar berjemaah.

Sejak penubuhannya pada 1 Januari 2003 melalui Perintah AITI, 2001, pihak AITI bertanggungjawab untuk melaksanakan fungsi pengawalseliaan untuk sistem dan perkhidmatan telekomunikasi; pengurusan spektrum frekuensi radio nasional; pelindungan kepentingan pengguna dengan mempromosikan harga yang kompetitif dan memastikan kualiti perkhidmatan telekomunikasi; serta perkembangan industri infokomunikasi dan teknologi komunikasi (ICT) untuk Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Pihak AITI akan terus berusaha ke arah mencapai visi untuk mentransformasikan Negara Brunei Darussalam menjadi Negara Pintar Terhubung melalui pembangunan industri digital yang berkembang maju, negara yang terhubung, dan masyarakat celik digital.
