AITI and UTB Inks Agreement to Implement Leadership Course for AITI Employees

A signing ceremony between the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to provide a 2-month leadership course for Assistant Managers, Chief Technical Officers and Senior Technical Officers of AITI, was held on Monday, 14 November 2022 at Seri Kerna Hall, AITI.

The ceremony commenced with welcoming remarks by Asimah binti Haji Hassan, AITI’s Assistant Chief Executive of Corporate Services. The remarks were followed by the signing of a Specific Collaborative Agreement between AITI and UTB. The signatories were Datin Paduka Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB and Ir. Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Chief Executive of AITI. This was witnessed by Asimah binti Haji Hassan, Assistant Chief Executive of Corporate Services, AITI and Dr. Mohammad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services) and Chairperson of the UTB Executive Development Programme (EDP) Committee.

The Collaborative Agreement was established under the umbrella of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) that both AITI and UTB entered in January 2021. Other projects executed under the MOU include the Initiative to Showcase 5G Use Cases as well as the Brunei Darussalam ICT Survey for Individuals, Households and Businesses 2021.

The leadership training programme aims to equip and nurture high-quality leaders in AITI with the necessary knowledge and skills to adapt, overcome and capitalise on any opportunities and challenges.

AITI employees who participate in the programme are expected to fully utilise the skills gained, such as using strategic thinking to establish goals and objectives for their Units, managing key functions to achieve organisational results, and sharpening their analytical skills to make well-informed decisions.
