AMATEUR RADIO EXAMINATION FOR OCTOBER 2013
 
 
AITI is a statutory body established on 1 January 2003 to license, regulate and develop Brunei Darussalam’s info-communications technology (ICT) industry and manage the national frequency spectrum.
 
AITI hereby invites interested individuals to apply for the Amateur Radio Written Examination and the Amateur Radio Practical Examination for September 2013.
 
1.    The examinations will be of two (2) types:
 
a.    Written examination – This examination will be divided into two (2) sections; section A will be on amateur radio theory, procedures and policy; section B will be on technical knowledge.
 
b.    Practical examination – This examination will be ‘hands-on’ and conducted individually. This is only eligible to applicants who had sat for previous written examinations. Terms and conditions apply
 
2.    To those who have registered for the Amateur Radio Licence Station at AITI, may proceed to apply and make payment, for one examination only; the fee is B$10.00 cash (non-refundable), and payment period is from Tuesday, 16 July 2013 until  Friday, 16 August 2013 during counter opening hours:
 
Customer service office and payment counter normal operating hours
 
Monday – Thursday                 :           8.15 – 11.45 am and 1.30 – 3.45 pm
Friday                                      :           8.15 – 11.30 am and 2.30 – 3.30 pm
 
Customer service office and payment counter operating hours
during the month of Ramadhan
 
Monday – Thursday                 :           8.15 – 1.30 pm
Friday                                      :           8.15 – 11.00 am
 
3.    The examination will be in English Language.
 
4.    Candidates who pass the written examination will:-
 
a.    Be upgraded to an Advanced Amateur Radio Licence for those who have a Standard Radio Amateur Licence.
 
b.    Get a Standard Amateur Radio Licence for the new applicants.
(Advanced Amateur Radio Licence can be applied six (6) months after holding the Standard Radio Amateur Licence. AITI will require the submission of log book from the previous six (6) months activity).
