Overall Responsibilities

Responsible in providing the subject matter expertise to the Interim Personal Data Protection (PDP) Authority and key stakeholders on matters related to personal data protection.

Key accountabilities include providing advice and conducting assessment on the current state of Personal Data Protection Order (PDPO), policies and legislation for the country and private organisations; driving continuous improvement in the planning and appraisal processes which includes process optimisation and the use of PDP regulatory mechanism and tools; conducting continuous stakeholder engagement and public consultation; and conducting a review and audit assessment to ensure compliance to PDP legislations.

Other responsibilities include providing value-creating or innovative approaches to personal data protection for the local businesses to flourish; and engage with leadership and private organisations in strategic discussions to provide Personal Data Protection, Cyber Security Strategy and industry guidance to improve client’s long-term PDP compliance objectives.

Requirements and Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB Hons), Public Policy, Information Security, Computer Science or any other related fields.
  • Master’s degree in relevant areas and/or International privacy certifications (such as IAPP-CIPP) is an added advantage.
  • Must have at least ten (10) years’ experience in any Data Protection and Privacy regulation and operation, regulatory functions, IT-related technology positions (Cyber Security Lead, IT Security Manager) with experience managing projects, budgets and teams.
  • Related working experience in either one or more of the markets within the region and/or international.
  • Possess strong commercial knowledge and business acumen skills.
