Deputy Chief Executive, Telecom

Overall Responsibilities

Responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for effective regulation of the telecommunications, broadcasting and postal sector as well as personal data protection.

Key accountabilities include overseeing the overall management and operations of the Telecom Division including regulatory licensing; regulatory policy and compliance; technical standards; spectrum management; numbering; network coverage and quality of service; consumers’ protection and digital infrastructure and connectivity.

Requirements and Job Specifications

  • Degree in Telecommunications, IT, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or any other relevant fields deemed by AITI.
  • Master in Infocommunications Management, Telecommunications, IT, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or any other relevant fields deemed by AITI is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years working experience in senior level positions.
  • Having a professional certification in relevant field (such as BAPEQS/IEEE/IET) or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
  • Possess excellent leadership quality, communication skills and proven ability to interact and manage relationships effectively with internal and external parties. 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving skills and strategic decision making.
  • Possess good knowledge in a wide range of IT and telecommunications technologies, trends and regulatory best practices.
