Assistant Manager, Wirelesss Technology Planning

Overall Responsibilities

Responsible to assist in planning, coordinating, implementing and updating the use of radiofrequency spectrum and satellite orbits allocation in accordance with the International Telecommunication Union Radio Regulations, relevant agreement with other countries as well as any international or regional development, for Brunei Darussalam. To coordinate with national agencies on wireless communication technologies for current and future usage in accordance with Brunei Darussalam’s Table of Frequency Allocations.

Key Accountabilities

  • To assist in planning the use of radiofrequency spectrum, satellite orbits allocation and wireless communication technologies in Brunei Darussalam.
  • To assist in research and perform co-existence study on wireless communication technologies for current and future usage in Brunei Darussalam.
  • To represent and coordinate with other agencies on national, regional and international level with regards to radiofrequency spectrum, satellite orbits allocation and wireless communication technologies for Brunei Darussalam i.e., International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and Frequency Assignment Committee, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam (FACSMAB).
  • To assist in developing and preparing radiofrequency spectrum allocations and wireless communication technologies usage for Brunei Darussalam and make any relevant changes to align with ITU’s Radio Regulations, relevant agreement between Brunei Darussalam and other countries as well as any international or regional development.
  • To perform the procedures of granting Spectrum Rights to infrastructure provider and ensure infrastructure provider’s compliance with terms & conditions.

Job Specifications

  • HND, Advanced Diploma or equivalent to Brunei Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF) Level 5 in Telecommunications and Systems Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering any other related field deemed fit by AITI.
  • Familiar with a wide range of Telecommunications and Radio communications systems and its recent development.
  • Excellent research, analytical and communication skills.
  • Good team player with internal and external parties.
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in MS Office, analytical and graphic software.
