​The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and telecommunications service providers have been made aware that a number of subscribers have been receiving hoax calls. AITI would like to assure the public that the telecommunications service providers are working together to address the situation.

As part of AITI's efforts to protect consumer interests, we would like to advise subscribers to:

1. Alert your telecommunications service providershould you receive any suspicious calls. The Customer Care helplines are listed below:

TelBru Customer Care – 111

Providing the details of the call will greatly assist in addressing the situation.

2. Always be extra cautiouswhen answering calls from unfamiliar local or international numbers.

3. Never give your personal details over the phone.Telecommunications service providers will never ask for your details over the phone. If any subscribers have given their personal details to what they believe is a hoax call, it is encouraged that they contact the Royal Brunei Police Force to lodge an official report.
